Actually it did surprisingly little. At that time, being spoilered didn't mean much. I read it more to confirm the spoiler than be bothered by it. I was a regular on YTMND when book 6 got released so I was usually in stitches from laughing so hard at the Snape sites.
Can't say the same for book 7... I wish I had been spoiled for that one, seeing as my wall still bears a lovely dent.
I've more or less unwritten books 6 and 7 from my memory, much like how I did with Apollo Justice and some of AAI. That and I never bothered with the movies after the second. They got butchered too much.
