More positive way to look at it:
They have a great single player planned, and decided to throw in a bunch of potentially fun multiplayer modes to play with friends from time to time.
Or, am I dumb for being excited to play this with my friends, gah, stupid me.

This has Next Level Games written all over it. Miyamoto on his own would never do something like this.
How good was Punch Out Wii multiplayer?

Just as abysmal as one would expect. May as well just play Wii Sports boxing.

Are you implying you played Punch-Out Wii with motion controls? lolololololol
Me and my friends happen to play the multiplayer for that game constantly, and have a great time. I don't see how you can even compare it to the waggle-fest of Wii Sports Boxing.

In danger of being scoffed at, I found that Wii Party sequel to be somewhat intriguing.
My, how the straws have accumulated.

Never bothered with the first Wii Party, but I heard the series is done by the good Mario Party veterans, so maybe it's kool

I hope you aren't talking about those people from what is now ex-Hudson who spewed out Mario Party games practically every 6 months back during the N64 and Gamecube years.
They should've made 2 per console, tops.
