So yeah, at first I was thinking that the Masked faggot was Angela's brother since his outfit kinda looked like he had blond hair like hers (and her brother went missing apparently)
THEN I thought Randall was Descole, but that too went down the tubes as he then sported a wonky hairdo to rival Layton's afro and then the villain once again became a crossdresser... as did Angela. How these guys fit into disguises of small women is beyond me.

So if these are the prequels, where is the buildup for adventures in the first three games (that were released)?
Layton 4: Meet Luke and Emmy. Crazy weird healing springs.
Layton 5: Backstabby Vegas in Britain drama abounds and some blatant homo starring Henry and Randall. Layton's crazy afro. SHIT GONNA GET REAL IN THE NEXT GAME!
Layton 6: No clue yet but IT'S GONNA BE INTENSE WITH WORLD WAR III.
Then...
Layton 1: Layton and Luke go to a village and pick up some girl... okay.
Layton 2: Acid trip general? Acid trip general. Well, alright.
Layton 3: AW SHIT NIGGA, LAYTON LOSES HIS SHIT WHILE LONDON GETS DESTROYED.
Well, in any case, then Luke in the first 3 games is like, "LET ME TELL YOU ABOUT THE GREATEST ADVENTURE I'VE BEEN ON YET!" and yeah, I guess finding a paradise under a lake in your fucking town and another potential world war via ancient technology was no big deal.
TL;DR: Long lost friends and World War 3 > a village of robots and a town of acid trips.
Either there will be series in-game damage control for Layton 6 or they'll all develop amnesia. And on a non-spoilerish note, is it just me or are the more recent games more... dark? Layton 4 had talks of murder and suicide and Layton 5 about about a step away from becoming a soap opera. inb4noresponses. |

It definitely has stepped up story-wise and become darker but the thing I enjoy the most about how they do things is that they manage to keep that whimsical kind of silliness no matter what direction the story takes After the trilogy ends and Layton steps down from main character, I can see one of two things happening
Emmy and Flora are the new protagonists
Adult Luke and some random kid are the new protagonists |

Well there's obviously something going on with Targent and that bearded dude (What's his name?), and I'm really wondering how the 6th game will go down really.
The only thing I can really hope is that when they meant last as in the last of the prequel trilogy and not Layton altogether.
